Introduction To Spandex Yarn Commonly Used in Stretch Fabrics And Its Main Properties!

With the improvement of people's living standards, the requirements for fabrics used in making clothing are getting higher and higher. Especially when people are exercising or working, ordinary clothes usually do not have good stretchability, which leads to a sense of restraint and discomfort when wearing. Therefore, higher requirements are put forward for the elastic stretch performance of textile clothing fabrics. In reality, many stretch fabrics are made of spandex yarn to make the fabrics have good elasticity, and spandex yarn is made of spandex fiber. Let's introduce the spandex yarn making method and its main properties!

Spandex yarn is made of spandex fiber!

Spandex stretch fiber is mixed with other fibers to spin stretch yarn. There are currently three forms of its yarn: spandex core-spun yarn, spandex twisted yarn and spandex covered yarn. The three forms of yarn have essential differences in processing principles and structural properties. Therefore, their uses and weaving properties are also very different.

What is the origin of spandex and its main properties?

Spandex is made of spandex fiber through spinning process. Spandex fiber is a kind of elastic fiber. Elastic fiber is called spandex abroad. The product name in my country is spandex. In fact, spandex is only a large category of elastic fiber. Spandex fiber (Polyurethane Fibre) is referred to as PU fiber. There are two varieties. One is a copolymer of aromatic diisocyanate and polyester segment containing hydroxyl group, referred to as polyester spandex, and the other is a copolymer of aromatic diisocyanate and polyether segment containing hydroxyl group, referred to as polyether spandex. The representative product name of polyester spandex is Vyrent, and the representative product name of polyether spandex is Lyera.

The main properties of spandex are: usually more than 500% to 700% elongation, good elastic recovery performance. It shrinks 97% when it is elongated by 200%, and shrinks more than 99% when it is elongated by 50%. The relative density of various spandex is relatively small, generally 1.20-1.25, and the breaking strength is 4.41-8.82 cN/tex (0.5-1.0 g/denier). The strength of polyester spandex is lower, while that of polyether spandex is higher. The moisture absorption rate is generally 0.3%-1.2%, and the moisture absorption rate of multifilament is slightly higher than that of monofilament. The heat resistance is generally 95-150℃, and short-term storage will not damage the fiber. The safe ironing temperature is below 150℃. The fiber burns slowly and forms a gelatinous residue after burning. It has excellent dyeing performance, can be dyed in a variety of colors, and has a strong affinity for dyes.

The dress is made of four-sided stretch suede fabric. The fabric is added with 40D spandex, and the spandex content accounts for 10%. It is close-fitting, comfortable, and soft, all thanks to the spandex!
